1/2 correct.
The MK II violins is from the chamberlin but that
sound didn't exist in the MK I library.
Harry gave them this sound via a master tape.
So if that's the case, they wouldn't have taken it from the Chamberlin 600. Also
using the actual tapes from the 600 wouldn't have been practical.
# Supposedly the MK2 violins were actually the
original Chamberlin violin sound...the only sound that Mellotronics kept from the
Chamberlin 600s Fransen brought to the UK.
