yes they did work.I tried saving my custom made patches to wav and it worked and so did the reloaded preset after two attemts.after the frist it only loaded half of them.some ok not great presets.I like the moudulate and 2010 a.d. patches.I was thinking about leting my sx go for another synth but Im gald I didnt I just have been neglecting playing and programing her as of late.not anymore.anyone want to post any sx240 or 210 user patches?I posted one before anyone try it out anyone else want to share a patch or two?

Re: [kawai-teisco] presets from synth maina

I've made a few patches since buying sx240 a few months ago. When I have the time, I'll post a couple. Really like this synth and don't think I will ever let it go for another synth. I currently have a Chroma Polaris, SCI Prophet 600, Roland MKS-70, Akai AX60, Casio CZ5000, Roland M-SE1, and Korg Poly800.

Anyone have this problem? When I close a program that uses midi, the SX240's VCA release parameter shuts off/sounds like it's at zero.

Something a little different happens to me. I use a hardware sequencer as a master to slave the 240.while I switch between sqeuences 1-16 as I switch between them it seems the midi is lower in volume .then the keys are. This only happens when I end one seq and start another. If I have two or three seq playing at once (we all know the sx recives on all channels)there is no volume change.maybe its not even my sx maybe it has to do with the sequencer.Speaking of I never got to the sequencer on the sx yet maybe ill try that out this weekend.I had my sx about a year now and when I got it was blank.so all the spaces for patches I filled with my own untill last weekend I finaly loaded the presets after I saved my custom patches to wav.and made sure I could reload them on the sx. I realy like this synth to and the only reason i was thinking of trading it was just a momment of not thinking.lol.I have a great love for synths.I was offered a juno106 mint for my sx but passed it up.The sx is amazing, synths im using now

Nice collection! The Prophet 600 is pretty cool. Which you probably already know, it's 6 voice polyphonic with 2 VCO's per voice. Each VCO has switches for saw, tri, pulse which can all be used in any combination. Plus all the other features, there are limitless possibilities. More importantly it really sounds great! Has very good midi impl. and I can save my patches with midiquest or sounddiver. I've been getting rid of all synths that lack knobs or easy access to parameters. No time for menus anymore, and I don't want to stare at a computer screen for hours using editors like midiquest. One exception is the MKS-70. Love the sound too much. Hopefully I can get a hold of the pg-800 controller which I stupidly sold a couple years ago.

Wow! you got some good deals on those synths. I was into the softsynth thing for about 2 years before I decided it was just ridiculous. 200+ softsynths on my computer, most free, some bought. Stupid. I had my own patches all over the place. Enough was enough. No more downloading the latest VSTi someone came up with. I wasted so much time trying out those VSTi's. I may open up Korg's Legacy Collection and VAZ 2010 every now and then, but that would be the extent of it. Recording is a different story, as software is easier, and more flexible than hardware in my opinion. Though I had some fond memories of using a Fostex cassette 4 track a long time ago.

One thing I like about the SX240, as far as programming goes, is you can access most of the functions with your left hand without lifting it. No press a button with your right, then turn the dial with your left hand as is the case with the K3 I think.

Yea I have got some good deals. I got my 240 here for a vey fair price as well. Your right about the soft synths there are so many these days. I to sometimes muck around on like analog factorty just to muck around.I actually bought my sone the KORG DS-10 for his nintendo ds gameboy. That thing is realy cool its basicaly two ms-10's with a seq and drum machine in it with 2 kaoss pads.very cool.I hook up his head phone 1/8 female to a 1/4 audio into my mixing board and electro voice and its thumps away.very cool I wish I had a 2 vintage synths on my old black and white gameboy.very cool and I hogg it from him all the time. lol

Recording for me is all threw the board to mpc to soundforge.very easy to record from mpc. I like seq everything on the mpc as thats what its does best as wel as sample. Sequencing out tracks sound much better on the mpc then if I where to use say use abelton or qbase/logic.The mpc seq have a feel to them and grat chops/roll effect can be tiggered that no other machine can make. I love it

The k-3 is not as simple while editing as the sx240.you got lift or use the other hand as there are membrane buttons to be pressed for different functions. Its fillter sounds very much like the sx240s but thats realy about all that sounds the same between the two. I had the k-3 for only about a month or so. I like it but i wouldnt say I like it more then my 240.

Has very good midi impl. and I can save my patches with midiquest or sounddiver. I've been getting rid of all synths that lack knobs or easy access to parameters. on more note on the k-3 when I said membrane what i ment was just buttons.buttons for everthing witch is very cool and easy.
I had the AX80 still on my mind. It does almost look like it could have da membrane da ax 80 over or behind its buttons

Re: [kawai-teisco] Re: vca midi

2009-03-30 by Frank Aitken

As of late, I'm caring less about using real drum sounds (i.e. stuff like BFD, Toontracks) and want to use some drum machines -hardware. An MPC sound like a good tool for sequencing as opposed to using the PC. A long time ago I used a Yamaha QX? for sequencing and It was a little tedious. I guess I'm trying to use the PC as less as possible. What MPC model do you use?

Sequencing out tracks sound much better on the mpc then if I where to use say use abelton or qbase/logic. The mpc seq have a feel to them and grat chops/roll effect can be tiggered that no other machine can make.

I realy like this synth to and the only reason i was thinking of trading it was just a momment of not thinking.lol. I have a great love for synths.I was offered a juno106

Re: vca midi

I use a 1000 i use to have a 2000xl but in the end i liked the 1000 better.mine is black not the ulgy blue they came.for sampling its the shit you can pulg it in your tv and sample anything.anything at all.records cds vsts computer drum kits ANYTHING as a drum machine its not very good by its self how its comes.its all what you put IN it that makes it so imporant to all my work.I make electro bass vocoder kraftwerk keys breakbeat stuff. My drums are never real sounding nor do i want them to be.well no sometimes but i use other gear to layer something i put on the mpc with say my korg er mk2 or my rm1x or my tr 707 ect.I use the mpc for great effects to the drums. snares and hats can be layered very very very fat and with effects its just the sound i like.If your off a recorded seq part there is a easy wave adj screen to to put it right back on beat or where ever you want it.chops rolls all good stuff.but be warned alot people whp get mpcs give up using them there is a learning curve but once you got it nothing comes cloes.the standard for seq and sampling nothing can fuck with it.

on a different note funny thing this morning while reading this i seen a add localy for a roland sh 101 for 100 cash.I was not realy looking for a roland sh 101 but for 100 im going try to grab that fast.I love gear sometimes you never know what you might get without expecting it.for 100 thats a steal!!!If i get it I just may have the luckest keyboard find for price luck a person could have.crosses fingers to hopefully be moving sliders.lol

I realy like this synth to and the only reason i was thinking of trading it was just a momment of not thinking.lol. I have a great love for synths.I was offered a

I currently have a Chroma Polaris, SCI Prophet 600, Roland MKS-70, Akai AX60, Casio CZ5000, Roland M-SE1, and Korg Poly800.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
