ok guys, im new on this forum.
I plan to buy a 210 really soon. I'd like to know if I MUST change 
te battery, or sometimes you dont have to change it ? Is there 
serous changes on the sound ?

The battery in any synth is there to backup the sound memory of the 
when your synth is powered off, so no effect on the sound.
Not all SX batteries leak, mines fine, but it will eventually. best to 
get it changed sooner than later.
Note when you replace the battery you sound memory will get deleted, so 
be prepared to program from scratch (certainly not a hard or bad thing 
IMO) your SX sound memory or backup your sounds to cassette to load 
back in.

You MUST replace it. The battery is designed to work only for about 
10 years or so... after 20 years it's definately going to leake all 
over the borad and ruin all the circuit part it comes across and 
traces
