Thanks for all the response. My tape recorders work with the casio I
have , so I really don't think it is my recorder medium. I am
concerned that if no verification, then no loading either: which seems
to be the case. If all else fails the pencil and paper always work. I
will keep cleaning and trying; and if successful, advance to the
computer storage.

modern g.e. cassette tape recorder with adapters work fine on the
kawai sx 240.
But not the sx 210. The sx 210 will save but on verify, I always get
an error message. It does seem both to be volume sensitive and no
volume adjustment satisfies my sx 210-- so I will get another recorder
of better quality and try.

My computer is way away from my studio so the windows record is not
easy, and will need to get an usb interface first.
