Re: [Kawai-Teisco] MIDI interface for SX-210

2015-06-02 by Jesse Hall

That is great news Bob, I have spent countless hours scouring the internet for info on designing such a device myself. I would like to order one of the boards and PICs but it won't be for a little while yet until I get back on my feet.

Hi,

Although it's not available fully assembled, if you are handy with a
soldering iron, or have a friend who is, and you would like to add MIDI
note on/off control to your SX-210, it is now possible at a reasonable cost.

I designed this for a friend, who has installed it in two synths so far
with no issues. The local keybed works normally.

A ribbon cable would be used, with an IDC female attached to the MIDI
board, and the other end stripped and tinned as bare wires, tack-soldered on
the underside of the keyboard connectors on the Kawai pc bd.

A separate 2-pin header is provided for the MIDI jack connection.

I am offering pc bds and programmed PIC chips, and the other components
are all readily available.

Details available by clicking on the link below.
