The Kawai & Teisco Analog Synths Group

The lithium is NOT a rechargable battery - that's why you need to 
place the diode - so it is not charged by the charging circuit. 
Otherwise is can explode.

You can simply take off the original battery, then attach a coin cell 
type lithium in a coin type battery holder (like the ones 
motherboards have) using double sided adhesive tape, connect the 
cathode (negative side) of the holder just to where the original 
battery cathode goes, and the anode (positive side) to a diode 
(positive side of the 1N4148 diode facing the positive side of the 
battery). Negavite side of the diode goes to the 1.5K resistor, 
originally connected to the battery.
