Hi, my SX-210 is still non
functioning.
At present, after replacing the battery which had
leaked everywhere, poly 8 mode produces mostly silence except occasionally when
the correct tone sounds. The other occasions when it makes a sound, its almost
as if its disregarding the parameters and creating a random patch!
Poly 4 mode only seems to have two voices sounding
one of which is a shrill tone, the other almost appearing normal. When it does
decide to make a noise, that is.
Mono mode just makes the loud shrill sound as if
the filter is wide open with a lot of resonance.
The leds on the front seem to light up in random
order and for other parameters than the one pressed!
Has anyone had or heard of similar behaviour as
this? I plan to fault find the main pcb as soon as i can get a chance to do it.
Any clues as to where to start first would be appreciated!
Someone i spoke to seemed to think that the due to
the leaking battery, the board might have absorbed some of it and is creating
shorts. It has been suggested that i soak the pcb in de-ionised water to try to
draw out the conductive ions.
Thanks for all your help. If anyone has a copy of
the service manual, that would assist me no end!
