R2m box

Hi people,

Does anyone know where I can buy just the box controller? I've got the ribbon and module already but want to use the ribbon with another rig.

As we offer both parts also separately you should be able to order it from each of our dealers (I'd try SchneidersLaden in Berlin).
Maybe they will have to order it separately for you if the do not want to cut the complete set.

Best wishes

Hey Neil,

Isn't it smart to try Emis first? You were in the UK I remember...

All the best,

Ernst

Just to check - it is another ribbon controller not the module that you need? I think I do too. I bought my ribbon controller and module secondhand and the ribbon controller is so hard that to get a pressure signal you have to virtually stand in the thing - well a handstand on one finger anyhow :-) And in that position I found it impossible to do vibrato. But I need to know - if I buy another ribbon, are all the modules the same? ie compatible with a new ribbon controller? I think I read that later ribbons had a softer touch anyhow.

Neither, it's the control box which is standalone.

The question is: Are they available?

I ordered one in early October and I'm still waiting.

We have a store here in Toronto (and head office in Montreal) called Moog
Audio. I have ordered many things from them lately (they sell a lot of
modular gear and synthesizers) and recently added the Doepfer modules so I
decided to try ordering from them instead of Martin this time.

But I have a feeling they just in turn place the order with Martin so there
probably isn't any difference.

Either way, it seems to be taking a long time.

I couldn't seem to find that link Dieter. Would a new ribbon controller be comparable with an old Ribbon Controller Module?

Yes, the manuals are compatible. The old version used a pressure sensor (conductive rubber) that was not as sensitive as the new
one. That's the only difference. That's the link: http://www.doepfer.de/faq/R2M_faq.htm

From my knowledge Martin of Technopolis orders every 2-3 weeks. So it should be no problem to obtain a single R2M/A-198 manual or
single R2M box from him.

Thanks again Dieter. Mine is an old one. I shall buy a replacement in the new year.

RE: AW: AW: [Doepfer_a100] R2m box

I asked Moog Audio. This is their reply:

Apologies for the wait, we just received this item back in stock yesterday
at our Toronto location and are expecting to have your order shipped out
tomorrow afternoon.

Hmmm. What an amazing coincidence! They very day I asked, it was suddenly in
stock! Well, I'll believe it when I see it.

Thanks

Scott

From my knowledge Martin of Technopolis orders every 2-3 weeks. So it should
be no problem to obtain a single R2M/A-198 manual or
single R2M box from him.
