Dark TIme & A-110 VCO tuning adjustment

Dark TIme & A-110 VCO tuning adjustment

2013-06-02 by sm.ms@virgin.net

Hi

I have just adjusted the scaling for my Dark Time Sequencer and now find that when I use the Dark Time via CV outputs with the A-110 VCO's I have to retune them, to about position 8 on the Tuning knob, in order for them to be in tune with other keyboards.

When I use the Dark Time with the A-110 VCO's via midi I have to retune the A-110's again to about position 5 on the tuning knob.

Is this normal behaviour?

I thought that the setting of the tuning knob should be the same for CV or midi.

Is there another adjustment that can be made on the Dark Time so that the VCO's do not have to be retuned?

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

Hello

the adjustment of the volt/octave setting will always cause a change of
the offset. You always have to readjust the offset after adjusting the
V/Oct. I won't know whether (and if yes where) the Darktime has an
offset trimmer, but I am quite sure there is one. I think Dieter will
jump in tomorrow.

As far as I know the offset can be adjusted only by the software (there are
no trimming potentiometer for CV offset available on the pcb, only for CV
scale). As I'm not the Dark Time specialist please ask Christian Assall
(software@doepfer.de) how to adjust the offset if you cannot find it in the
user manual. But unfortunately he is on holiday since today. In the meantime
the offset can be compensated with the tune control of the VCO(s).

Best wishes

Dieter, thanks for the reply.
I have emailed Christian and an auto response says he is away until 23 July (nice long holiday!)

Does anybody else out there know how to access the CV offset on a Dark Time?

Thanks

Hi

I have the same problem, I've always tuned the vco's to the Dark Time, but it would be better if the cv tuning was the same as midi.
