Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hey,

I have my CD player hooked up to my DTX, except I only hear music in 
one earphone.. Any suggestions, or is this standard?

I tried using my other discman, and got the same problem, so I don't 
think it's that. Also, I don't think it has to do with the cord I use 
to connect the discman to the brain.

Hey selfcase!  I had that problem too the first time i tried to 
connect my dtx to a boombox, but the cord I was using was a mono 
cord.  I don't know if a stero cable would have fixed the problem, 
but I would imagine it would have, are you sure its not a problem 
with the cord your using?  Also, what about your headphones?  Are 
they stereo headphones?  Now a days I connect directly to my 
computer and play cds of off there.  All I can say is, is that its a 
whole lot better when both the music and dtx flow through both ears!

I assume you're going through the aux and headphone inputs on the 
DTX. Are you using a mono adapter and/or a mono cable/jack into the 
module somewhere along the line? If so, that's your problem. You'd 
need a stereo Y adaptor to catch the RCA feed from a component CD 
player into the module and presumably a stereo cable with 1/8" jacks 
to make the connection from a discman. If your headphones need a 
1/4" adaptor for the module, make sure the jack has two rings for 
stereo; otherwise one ear is all you'll get.
