I assume you're going through the aux and headphone inputs on the DTX. Are you using a mono adapter and/or a mono cable/jack into the module somewhere along the line? If so, that's your problem. You'd need a stereo Y adaptor to catch the RCA feed from a component CD player into the module and presumably a stereo cable with 1/8" jacks to make the connection from a discman.
