RE: [Andromeda_A6] Re:Andromeda really good to get

2003-01-16 by Paulo Abreu

There is a lot of similarities between the Q and MicroQ, but
attention that there are some substancial differences, not only in
synthesis power (namely at the filters and their combinations, but
also, very clearly in my opinion in the smoothness of the sound, the
micro seems even more agressive and is never capable to achieve the Q
smoothness (I don't know if this has to do with sonic quality of the
converters or on the algorithms side, I guess its the later)...the Q
has more than twice the DSP power and a lot less voices...this must
mean something...

About leads...I have to confess that it really depends, because while
for the more smooth wistling leads, like the "old" mono moogs, than
the A6 is way better but I have, and there are on the net, some Q
leads that are fantastic...one of them, I do not recall names, its
one of my favourites of all time, much like some I could get with the
old roland SH1 , quite "hip-hop/rap" leads from the 80's.
