I got a Cat SRM here that I went through since they're all socketed and just replaced all the chips pretty much since I have stock of all of them in ample quantities...save the filter which seems to work well and the noise generator. I've gotten it from a point of strange env. attack on adsr and no oscillators save tinny high sound with no key track...to where oscillator two seems to work now. 1 is still absent functionally. I'm looking at some long ceramic modules..maybe 20 pins or like that...single inline packages labelled "CKT #2" and another long number. No idea what they are. Two of them. They don't appear to be in the schematics I downloaded.
Secondly, the DK600 I got working a while back starts doing a popping sound shortly after boot. Now I see a correlation finally. The thing's light that indicates a patch has been edited starts blinking for no reason. I moved all the controls to no avail and they all seem to work great as I cleaned them anyway. But there's something causing the thing to do this almost S+H ish kind of popping under some of the sounds like 5 and 89 in particular. Other sounds I don't hear it at all or a lot less. Since it seemed thermally related I spent a bunch of time cooling chips to no avail tonight. Arggheee. Tough couple weeks. Nothing seems to be going too easily here. Any help appreciated. -Bob
