I used Aluminium primer and then typical acrylic spray. Actually 2 of them to get nice colour effect. Works like a charm.
Because of very high unliquidness (is that a word?) the primer could not be sprayed, byt roll-painted, so the surface isn't so smooth as it would be with anodizing, but it could be silkscreened without any problems. It was then covered with transparent acrylic spray.
