Clearly we need to make the XL-7 group invitation-only, or screen the applicants. Yahoogroups has been strafed by spammer attacks over the last few days. -- Nick. -- nick rothwell -- composition, systems, performance -- http://www.cassiel.com

I find that making all new members moderated only, keeps the spam off.

They're not even joined in the list, nothing I can do in this case.

Make me a moderator, I do it for the mc505 group, xl1 group and about 10 others. I get notified via email and I click through regular posts and ban spammers. Ravi

LOL, first of all, I'm not the list owner, I'll leave that up to him to choose who gets moderator status and who doesn't. Besides, you lot must all want to be moderators, I just got like 20 emails from people offering. Second, it's not like we're getting bombarded by spam emails, it was just a couple. Third, like I said this person isn't even subscribed to our group (nor were they), so it wouldn't have made any difference. If this gets worse then maybe we can start talking abou these options, but I don't think it's that bad yet :) Thanks to all of those that offered to be moderators though! rEalm Make me a moderator, I do it for the mc505 group, xl1 group and about 10 others.
