Say, I want to use the patch #14 in my external sound module... Can I change it to #14 from the Xl-7? I have a sampler that for some reason doesn't route the incoming midi signal to the patch you are currently using... Can someone redirect me to the right page in the manual or guide me through the process? I've been looking around the manual for about an hour to no avail... Btw, I'm not complaning about the manual most things are really clearly explained, I just kind find where this patch thing it at... thanks in advance...

You also need to make sure the track is set to EXT (Pattern Edit menu),
and that there is a program change event on that track as well.

I don't know what I hit yesterday but once I was able to change the patch to another but not the one I needed. :( I think might be confusing terms or something....Any help greatly appreciated. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "sincultura13" <sincultura13@y...> wrote: > Say, I want to use the patch #14 in my external sound module... Thanks! I could have sworn that I tried that yesterday... but it worked today.... Now, the problem I have is that the pads send an on messege to trigger the loop but instead of turn it off when I hit the pad again it retriggers it.... Is there a way to change that? thanks again --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, erik_magrini@B... wrote: > You also need to make sure the track is set to EXT (Pattern Edit menu), > and that there is a program change event on that track as well. > > rEalm > > > > > > sincultura13 <sincultura13@y...> > 07/21/2003 11:35 AM > Please respond to xl7 > > > To: xl7@yahoogroups.com > cc: > Subject: [xl7] Re: How can I change my samplers patch from the Xl-7? > > > Last night I read old posts here and followed the steps but it didn't > work... That would be a setting in your sampler, what kind is it? rEalm Now, the problem I have is that the pads send an on messege to trigger the loop but instead of turn it off when I hit the pad again it retriggers it.... The sampler is a Boss SP-505... though it has a very poor midi implimentation I've never had any problems with this before. I've had it for a long time and the first things I checked was all the settings, but it shouldn't be 'cuz I externally trigger samples all the time... It's like the Sp-505 doesn't know what to do with the incomming signal... if I bounce pads on the Xl-7 a certain way they stop the loops but is really innacurate... I only really need the pads to trigger single shots, but I still would like understand why this happends... --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, erik_magrini@B... wrote: > That would be a setting in your sampler, what kind is it? > > rEalm > > > > Now, the problem I have is that the pads send an on messege to trigger the > loop but instead of turn it off when I hit the pad again it retriggers

I'm guessing the midi implementation on the sp505 is probably identical to that on the sp808 (which I have). Again, I still think this is a sampler setting, there should be away to change how the pads on the 505 play their samples, typically with options like: one shot, trigger, drum, repeat, etc. The pads on the XL-7 will only ever be able to send out Midi note on and off messages, and the only option related to them from within the XX-7 itself is the option to keep them from transmitting this data out the midi port. Gotta be a sp505 setting. rEalm The sampler is a Boss SP-505... though it has a very poor midi implimentation I've never had any problems with this before. My coworker just dropped a SP-202 on my desk. Pg 39 in the manual (Section 6, MIDI) details "Trigger Playback" vs "Gate Playback". In trigger mode, each press of a note toggles the sound on and off. In gate mode, it behaves like a normal note (note down: sound on, note up: sound off). -Aaron PS. the way you're getting it to work by hitting the pads a certain way is because you're double triggering the pad. --- sincultura13 <sincultura13@...> wrote: > The sampler is a Boss SP-505... though it has a very poor midi > implimentation I've never had any problems with this before. Thanks... Realm, so you get to sample to play right with the "repeat" playback option selected for the sample ? My keyboard/computer does that without a problem... The Sp-505 has trigger, gate, and drum(single hits) and also the first two have the option to be looped. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Aaron Eppolito <synthesis77@y...> wrote: > My coworker just dropped a SP-202 on my desk. The Sp808 doesn't have that option, I was just throwing out the names of the most common ones that a lot of samplers have. I only use GATE mode with the Sp808. rEalm Thanks...
