I just upgraded my MP7 with the XL1 Rom. But I recognized that the XL1 presets are different from the XL7 presets. I can´t find the XL7 presets in the web. EMU doesn´t have the XL7 presets on the website and they also can´t be found in the XL user Group Files section. Can somebody upload the XL7 presets please or email them to me directly? Please HEELP! What E-MU did with this originally was to change the ID's from the X- Lead ROM(from the Xtreme Lead-1) and the Pure Phatt ROM(from the Mo'Phatt) to be used in the Command Stations. This has been gone over before. The ROM's that are in the Command Stations, while they have the same instruments, have different ROM ID's and the presets have been altered to accept the 16 knob controllers instead of the 12 on the standard modules. MP-7 (ROM ID / MROM) XL-7 (ROM ID / XROM) Mo'Phatt (ROM ID / Pure Phatt)changed by E-MU to be used in the CS. Xtreme Lead-1 (ROM ID / X-Lead)changed by E-MU to be used in the CS. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Carlos Morra <carlos_morra@y...> wrote: > I need them too !! > > I have a MP7 and XL1 rack and I take out the rom from > this and put on my MP7 ! > > Pls help me !!! > --- theringer01 <theringer@c...> wrote: > > --------------------------------- > I just upgraded my MP7 with the XL1 Rom. Just for fun, I checked out some pdf manuals. The ROM Instruments listed in the XL-1 manual and XL-7 manual (OpMan F) appear to be identical. (Note: OpMan G lists 1076 ROM Instruments as opposed to 1211! Also, XL-7 OpMan F lists 182 riffs, but contains duplicate names; XL-7 OpMan G lists 314 riffs and contains even more duplicate names; XL-1 manual lists 152 riffs.) HOWEVER, the names of the XL-1 and XL-7 presets appear to be different. Locations of same named presets are also different. I assume that the patchcords, initial controller amounts, etc. in the presets of the two different XL ROMS (12 controller presets v. 16 controller presets. THUS, if someone takes an XL ROM from an XL-1 turbo (for example) and puts it in a non-XL Command Station, they might want to set up User Banks so they have the XL-7 presets as they exist in the XL-7 itself. If someone uploads the XL-7 dumps, I would be willing to work with others to try to automate the conversion for the XL-1 ROM. (As I understand it from the list, E-Mu has created user loadable banks so that XL-7 owners have the XL-1 presets assigned to the XL-7 ROM.) Dr. Steve

I can do this tonight, if no one can do it any sooner. rEalm If someone uploads the XL-7 dumps, I would be willing to work with others to try to automate the conversion for the XL-1 ROM. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I have been looking for something similar, I would even be willing to pay someone to have it done. I have an xl-7, I have also added the rom from my mo-phatt to the xl7. What I want are the patterns from the MP-7. , again I can load them in with e-loader, but no sounds due to different rom id's. I f someone could convert these for me I would be greatful !!!!!! --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, erik_magrini@B... wrote: > I can do this tonight, if no one can do it any sooner. > > rEalm > > > > If someone uploads the XL-7 dumps, I would be willing to work with others > to try to automate the conversion for the XL-1 ROM. > > > > > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

(As I > understand it from the list, E-Mu has created user loadable banks so that XL-7 owners have the XL-1 presets assigned to the XL-7 ROM.) Hi all I've just uploaded XL7 dumps in the files section ....They come from the latest rom called X-ROM which has one preset bank added in comparison with the previous one (called XL-7 if I remember well ....) So.........I had to do some compromise (5 preset banks to load into only four USER ones !!), that's why X-ROM bank 04 (the new bank) will load into the same user bank (Bank 0) as X-ROM bank 0...In short, you can't have both in user memory !! Former owners of XX7 (with the rom called XL-7), should really try this new bank it has some kicking ass presets !!!! Ha and Dr Steve, if you could find a way to automate conversions on both sides (I mean XL7 to XL1 but also XL1 to XL7) you could make a whole bunch of people happier !! ( XX7 users who wants to put their hands on all these presets Xl-1 users have been doing for years so we could see what it worth....Curiosity will kill me someday !!!) Anyway I'm glad I can contribute in some way ....... Regards P.S : The file is in Cubase VST 32 v5.1 song & arrangement formats

Thanks for the upload, I've also uploaded the files in ".mid" format as well, for those people not using Cubase VST. rEalm I've just uploaded XL7 dumps in the files section .... P.S : The file is in Cubase VST 32 v5.1 song & arrangement formats [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

You should try it too ;) Cheers P.S : I think we can get rid of previous uploads this one is the right one !!

Thanks, I pulled mine down then, no need for repeats. I'll take a listen to the new bank, but to be honest I never use Factory Presets, so I doubt I'll find much use in them. I'd rather hit Randomize User Preset over and over again looking for new sounds, than scroll through Factory Presets :) That's just me though :) rEalm I uploaded again XX7 factory presets into the files section and this time it's in Midifile 01 format.........Just because it has five banks instead of four , so I think this new bank should be of some interest for many people around here !!! You make me realize I never tried it !!! I will do that ! Though I still think that sometimes some factory presets are a good starting point , they can give you an idea , a direction , you can also learn some tricky patchcords settings you never thought about so far etc ,etc... I do think that everything that can improve creative process in some way is worth taking no matter where it comes from !! Unfortunately these patches are mostly Bts which work with new riffs added in X-ROM chip, so great part of 'the effect' will be lost ... Great multi-layered patches though ...should be good to randomize ;)

Hmmm....Randomize Preset ....Seems to be a good idea !!! You make me realize I never tried it !!! I will do that ! >>>Hehe, I love Randomize, one of the best things about this box if you ask me. Just make sure you go in toPreset Edit after you find a cool sound and use the Solo Preset Layer function. A lot of times Random will give you a 4 layer preset that sounds great, but it's really only using 1 or 2 layers that make up the cool part of the sound. MIght as well save some polyphony by turning off the layers that aren't adding anything to the sound. (set the intrument to NONE. <<< Though I still think that sometimes some factory presets are a good starting point , they can give you an idea , a direction , you can also learn some tricky patchcords settings you never thought about so far etc ,etc... >>>For sure, not saying they aren't good or that people shouldn't use them (gotta put that in there for Ravi), just that FOR ME, they never fit the bill. :) <<< rEalm [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Now , you already changed my way of working in some aspects (Ha your "organizing " tips had great effect on me !!) you could do it again with this last tip.... who knows ? You can start by taking a look at the patchnames list M2 has published, maybe some names will appeal to you ? And maybe YOU will find something interesting among these 127 new presets.....Never say never ;))) Best Regards > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

How would you like to be able to generate a while bank of randomized presets at the press of a computer button? 2. How would you like to be able to name layers you like the contour of so you can generate presets based on these layers? 3. How would you like to have named sets of predefined parameters (eg, persoanlized patchcord/controller settings, FXA/FXB settings, preferred RIFF, preferred number of layers to use, preferred Instruments, etc.) so you can generate banks of presets based on those parameters?
