Spoke with an EMU rep 2 days ago. The host port will eventually be used to download samples off of the EMU web site. Samples such as sounds from the movie Armageddon and stuff. He also said that clips from various ROMs (Beat Garden etc..) will be available for sampling but there may be a fee involved. I heard that it will eventually be used to back up data at a faster rate than Midi. --- In xl7@y..., erik_magrini@B... wrote: > It'll be used with the E-Laoder software taht ships with the Command > Station for uploading Patterns and Presets to a computer for back up and > orginization. >The host port will eventually be used to download samples off of the EMU... (etc.) Hmm, sounds weird since the XL-7 isn't a sampler. Perhaps what they really said (or meant) was that there will be a new feature that lets you upload samples into a flash ROM from a computer using the USB port. I don't know if it's possible, but if it is - add this feature please =) //Nifflas
