Cut/Copy/Paste Track

Cut/Copy/Paste Track

2001-12-05 by beat_rebel@yahoo.com

XL-7 rocks!

     OK, anyways, let's say I have three tracks(01, 02, 03) and they
sequence to three channels(01A, 02A, 03A). Track 01 controls
the kick on channel 01A, track 02 controls the snare on channel 02A,
and track 03 controls the high-hat on channel 03A. Now lets say I want
each of the three tracks to be a full drum track so I copy each of the
tracks on to each of the others so they will be identicle and then
I'll continue by modifying each track to be a variation of what I
originally had. The ploblem is that when I copy track 03(for example)
to track 02(also as an example) what I 'll get is not a track 02 that
plays the snare part on channel 02A and the high-hat part on channel
03A but a track 02 that plays all its data on channel 02A resulting in
a nasty snare roll only worse because it is is playing the different
snare samples corisponding to the notes the high-hat part used.
Does all that make sense? I know I'm probably just a silly fool,
but how would you all acomplish what I'm trying to do?

Much thanks,
Beat Rebel

Are you making sure that the same Preset (drum kit) is selected for each
part?

In the channel assign screen (pattern edit menu), set each of those three
tracks to be "MultiA". Otherwise, each track gets hard channelized to
whatever is set in the channel assign screen (defaults to 1->1, 2->2...).
