this sounds great, but are there reverse sounds too ?

are all drum sounds new, or are most of them taken from the xl or
composer rom ? i´m asking this question, because i was very
dissapointed when i found out, that a lot of drum sounds on the
composer rom are similar to the xl rom.
if most of the drum sounds are new, the drum-rom will be my next rom.
:-)

px-7 drum kits

2003-06-21 by alvinenglish

Let me take a moment to ask a real dumb question.

The drum kits in the new px-7 command station allow you to insert
presets from drum kits. I thought all of these command stations are
basically the same - physically and operating system. So, why can't
we do the same with the xl-7 & mp-7 command stations? Is the rom
that much different?

Could you explain this?

The drumkit samples are laid out to make layering a little easier.
Have a look at the PX-7 manual - pp. 319-320.

There are some interesting things in there. Looks like the synth kits
include SP-1200, Emulator 2 drums, MS-20, 1983 kit (DMX?), SK-1
(Casio!?), and of course 808 and 909. Looks like most of these come
from the Vintage Pro ROM. I hope there are some good looooooooong
cymbal crashes, that's an area almost always neglected.

Will the Drum Arps be in the expansion ROM as well? And do any of the
other ROMs have "specialized" samples or arps? The Vintage Pro
doesn't seem to do anything unusual.
