Syncronizing to a VS-1680

Syncronizing to a VS-1680

Can someone tell me how to syncronize the XL7/MP7 to a VS-1680 when
you already have a external keyboard hooked up to it?

Since the XL7 has only one midi input, if you want to get midi from a
keyboard, and also from the 1680 (e.g. for start/stop or clock), then
you need to merge the two midi signals. You can do this with a midi
merger box, such as a midiman merge 2x2 ($80 at Musicians Friend). If
you watch on ebay, you can find them (or similar devices) for less.
You might be able to accomplish what you want by making the XL7 the
master, and sending clock to the 1680. Then you wouldn't need the
merger. Unless you are already using the 2 midi outs for other things.

How do I set up the MIDI Out (B) so that I can use the the XL-7
clock to trigger my recording?
