Hi Folks

I'm thinking of adding a PX-7 to my studio.

My question is whether or not there is a way to do Phrase playback (like
Korg's "Realtime Phrase Sequencing" for example)

This features makes pressing a single key or trigger play back a complex
phrase instantaneously. In units where phrase sequencing is implemented,
it is often the case that several such phrases can be mapped to keys on
a single midi channel and played as cues.

Any help would be appreciated.

Heheh some more experienced uses should answer- btu I
believe you can accomplish that with the "triggers"
function of the PX7/XL7/MP7

Hi Matt, good to see another of the Infected over here.

The answer to your question is "sort of". There's no direct 
equivalent of RPS but you can either use Beats mode (preset ROM 
phrases only) or the arpeggiators. You can program your own user 
patterns in the arps as mini-sequences and assign them to the Trigger 
buttons. rEalm has a post with more detail on this (see message 8816 
on this group). The arp patterns are monophonic (each step is a 
single note) so they're not as versatile as RPS but they may work for 
your purposes. It's a real shame there's no way to assign a track 
from a pattern to use as a Beats riff (which would make it more or 
less equivalent to RPS), but the arps are pretty nice. Hope that
