Yes, the beats are useful for laying down pre-synced drums,
percussion and hits. The difference between beats and kits is that a
bts: preset has 16 tracks assigned to one preset(*click link below)
and kits can be used with your sequencer or **-7 using the drum pads
to do things in real time, step or grid. You can also use the 16
trigger buttons to latch a bts preset sample on or off depending on
how you have the unit set-up.
