Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

I have tried evrything I can think of and I have posted a couple of 
times about this one.

What comes out of the main outs is not what comes outa da cans!
I am using a mackie mixer and am pluging my headphones directly in to 
the XL and then into the Mackie and there is a huge diference and i 
am not talking about a mild texture difference.  The fx are different 
and all the sounds that I am playing off my E5000 through the returns 
on the XL are in mono.  Any of you E-MU boys have any ideas on this 
one?  I made my own cords and they seem to be working fine.

The other thing that I dont get is why when i use the song mode 
things are always just wack!  the track mutes are all outa wack and 
the tempo will change and other odd things pop up with no 
predictability as far as i am concerned.  Shoud i not just be able to 
select the patterns that i want to play in the right order and select 
all the changes to come from the patterns save and hit play?

I don't get what is going on with either of thies things and i have 
been trying to figure them out for some time now.

HELP!


P.s. the new OS do what i need it to.  Thank you again for making it 
happen ya EMUians. :)

i just receive my XL7 and i have problems to download the new OS inside ...
when i press "download OS to target" there's a message like "you are going
to update an XL7", then i say OK and there's "FAILED" ....

I have windows XP aznd a sound blaster live platinum with KX project
drivers

Are you putting your XL-7 in OS receive mode?  This is done by 
holding down the 'enter' button while powering on the command 
station.  You should then be able to update the OS.  Hope this helps.

Hello,
  I don't know if you tried this yet.  Installing the
new OS is a COMPLETE 2 step process.  First you have
to prepare E-Loader with the "OSloader preparatory
file".  You have to boot while holding down enter in
this process.  Load the prep file from your PC.  After
the "Prep" file is loaded....
 
Next you have to prepare E-loader on your PC with the
actual new OS file.  Once again you have to boot
holding down enter.  So it is kinda a "double load",
but the OS has to be loaded second, AFTER the OS prep
file. If the "preparatory file" isn't loaded first,
your OS load will definately fail.


If you have tried this, disregard what I have said. 
Just trying to help.
