Does the MIDISport show up in other applications, like a sequencer
program? The devices shown in the E-Loader device lists are whatever the
OS publishes as available MIDI devices and are not controlled by
E-Loader per. se. If the MIDISport drivers were written correctly, it
should show up in the E-Loader device lists. I have a MIDISport that I
use with my Mac and OMS and it works fine with E-Loader. I haven't yet
tried it with my PC since I use the MIDI connection of my sound card,
but I can try it. Then again, I use Win2K and not Win98. I have access
to a Win98 machine, so I can try it (if no one else can respond to this)

The presets, or the sequences? The presets from an XL-7 will
<obviously?> not work in an MP-7 without the MP-7 sound card installed -
they are entirely different than the MP-7 presets. The sequences from
XL-7 will technically 'work' with and MP-7, but of course all the
program changes will need to be re-mapped to MP-7 presets. I.e. the
sequences will play, but you will hear no sounds without pointing the
tracks to available presets.

It will require at least 1.17 software, which is now available at the
E-mu website. But you will need drivers for your PC, which have not been
released yet. Those will be coming 'real soon now'.

e-loader usb interface

im using a laptop with windows 98 and a midiman 4x4 midi/usb
interface to upload and download patterns into my mp-7. i cannot get
the midi conf. to say anything except "none" on the input and some
kind of roland synth thing that came on the laptop already. is it
possible for this to work, or is the midiman just not gonna cut it?
also, if and when i get it to work, is it possible and/or worth it to
replace the user presets with the xl-7 presets, so i can have both,
or are they basically the same?

by the way, when the usb connection on the command station works, it
will be a new os right?
