Should I be worried???

Should I be worried???

2003-05-12 by lostusomewhere2003

ok, here's the deal...just bought my command station a few months ago
from Guitar Center...went again this weekend to see if they had the
ZR rom...the sales guy told me that the command stations were, ahem,
now discontinued (ie, prices continuing to fall,as new model coming
out soon) and that "accesories" may be hard to come by now. I was
wiggin out. He tried to calm me down--this the same guy who sold me
the XL, and suggest maybe i trade it in in the near future...for
something else in the store--upgrade to an MC-909 or whatever, kinda
peculiar but all the same---What the F@$%&?!!!!?

1) please tell me this guy is bullshitting me.
2) as a new emu owner, please tell me the support will still be good,
and i should have nothing to worry about

1) please tell me this guy is bullshitting me.

A. Anything that the employees of Guitar Center tells you about gear, they
received as hearsay from the other customers.
B. The guy is just trying to sell you more gear. Trade it in? What a
numbnut.

2) as a new emu owner, please tell me the support will still be good,

Well, it's been around a long while, and we just got a big fat upgrade,
which might spell the beginning of the end of product's life cycle.
Furthermore, their price has dropped about 50% since they first came out...

I can understand the anxiety about a piece of equipment not being
produced anymore. But who cares???? I got mine about 3 months ago
and I'm happy that I only paid $600 for it. The Unit is awesome!!!!
And I can see using this thing for years to come...

Just ordered one today after about a month of playing with it at
the local music shtuff shop.. I can't wait to get this baby going
with my Alesis QS6 (w/ EuroDance card), AIRFX/synth and Orion
Platinum.. it's just going to make a enormous splash in the way I
work over here. Looking for more of ya'll's XL-7 tunes - listening
to Frozen Clouds now and it just makes me sweat even more in
anticipation.

Best of all, on Musician's Friend (where I snagged it today), it's
only $499 w/ free shipping.

I'll resume my drooling and lurking now :)
