How to record riffs in a pattern?

How to record riffs in a pattern?

2001-11-27 by hhuent@gmx.de

Hi there,

Does anybody know
1. if you can assign a certain riff to different presets?
2. if you can record a riff in a pattern? Or copy it to a pattern?
There are some nice drum grooves I´d like to use and transform in a
new pattern.

Anybody?

Heinrich

Yes, it's all in the preset. I think it's under the arps section.

You need to take the riff out - either with an external sequencer, or by plugging the midi out into the midi in.

Hi,and thanks for answering, Jonathan,

are you sure?
I checked that in the manual as I cant get hold of my mp-7 right now:
In the arp section they talk about factory 200 pattern and 100 user
pattern you can assign. But in the appendix you will find a list of
362 riffs. So I doubt the patterns are the same as the riffs you will
get when you use the audition button.

Any Comments about that?

I believe, (and I have neither the manual nor my xl in front of me, that the patterns refer to the arpegio patterns, while the riffs refer to the audition riffs. You can assign both to each patch.
