New O.S, Question

New O.S, Question

2003-05-04 by stx303

I have a few questions about the new o.s

1)Do i need O.S. 1.32 to upgrade to 2.0.(I'm currently running O.S
1.0 which is what it came with)?

2)Does O.S. 2.0 include the features included in the earlier O.S's
(such as superbeats mode)

3)Do i still need a midi interface to upgrade or can it be done by
USB?
(so do i need to go get a midi interface?)

I believe in this case you have to send the commandprep10.dli file
before sendind the actual OS file (command200.dli).

AFAIK, yes.

E-Loader wants a MIDI interface to do the upgrade.
If the computer has a soundcard with a joystick port (or if it's
integrated to the motherboard), a MIDI cable adapter *may* be enough
though.

>>>NO, but if you are using an OS earlier than 1.31, you will need to load
the OS file CommandPrep before you load the OS2 file. The proceedure is
the same for both, so following the directions. ,<<

>>>OS upgrades can only be done via MIDI, so yes you will need an
interface. M-Audio's Midisport 1x1's are very cheap if you're low on cash.
