Re: [xl7] NO sound output from P2500 while playing keys through xp 60 keyboard.

We checked the sound output from the P2500 module through the AUDITION
button and it was playing fine without any problem. After connecting the
Keyboard XP60 to the P2500 module (XP60 MIDI OUT - P2500 MIDI IN), and
while playing the keyboard there is no sound output from the P2500
module. But we can get sound output from the P2500 itself by presssing
the audiotion button only .

>>>Can you see the MIDI in indicator lighting up on the P2500 when you
press a key on the XP60? It should be at the top of the module's front
panel on the right side. <<<

Why is it that we can get the sound output from P2500 while pressing the
audition button., and not from the keyboard xp60 ( MIDI out of xp60
keyboard going to midi in to P2500 module).

>>>Some more things to check:

- Are they both set to the same MIDI channel?
- Is there a Preset selected on the that channel? The default Preset will
not sound, so you need to make sure one of the factory Presets is
selected.
- Is it possibly a bad midi cable? <<<

Thinking that the o.s. might be the problem. We tried to upgrade the P2500
o.s. ver from 1.31 to 1.32 and 2.0,but no luck we could not upgrade the
P2500 module. We have selected the download request o.s ver 2.0 and also
target device selection midi in 1 and midi out 1 ,inspite of this under
status : it still showing : waiting for download request ,No file
selected ,no target selected. Why is it so ,are we missing something
,please let us know

>>>Wow, that's a strange one! It sounds like you're doing everything
correctly, my only guess is that somehow E-Loader did not install itself
properly? I'm sure you're frsutrated by this, but maybe try re-installing
E-Loader 1.1 again? I can't think of what else could be casuing this,
unless the Midi interface is having troubles and not seeing the P2500 in
OS receive mode. Do you have the latest drivers installed for the MTP?<<<

Your help is needed urgently. Waiting for your reply ASAP

Re: [xl7] NO sound output from P2500 while playing keys through xp 60 keyboard.

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your mail

Yes when I press a key on the xp-60 ,I can see the MIDI in INDICATOR
lighting up (RED in colour) on the P2500 module.

Yes ,both are set to same MIDI Channel 1. Selected the factory presets.
I have checked the midi cables and they are working with other midi
devices .

Also I re-installed the software E-loader 1.1,also the MTP AV USB is
installed with the latest drivers.

I tried upgrading the o.s (2.0) from E-loader 1.1 ,selected the
downloadable o.s. file 2.0 ,seected the midi device INPUT AND OUTPUT
PORT,but still the problem on the download section :Download OS File
to Target is not highlighted.

It looks like the o.s. has been corrupted ,or has the midi controller
gone bad.we are not sure.

(Recently I have upgraded (using o.s. loader 1.0) the PROTEUS 2000 to
o.s. ver 2.26, with this same setup, but I could not upgrade the P2500
module using E-loader 1.1).

Also can we upgrade the P2500 module using another P2500 module.
For eg. Transferring O.S from one P2500 module to another P2500
module using midi cables ,without using e-loader and the computer.
Pls let us know if this possible.

Again your help is needed .

Waiting for your reply ASAP

Thanks and Best Regards
for S.U.N. Media Ventures Pvt Ltd.

>>>Ok, well that rules out the obvious ones then :) <<<

It looks like the o.s. has been corrupted ,or has the midi controller gone
bad.we are not sure.

>>>Yeah, I saw that emu has the new OS on their site now, so you could try
downloading it from there again. Additionally, I'll attach the exact same
OS file I used to update my XL_7 to this email, so you try that one too:

(Recently I have upgraded (using o.s. loader 1.0) the PROTEUS 2000 to
o.s. ver 2.26, with this same setup, but I could not upgrade the P2500
module using E-loader 1.1).

>>>This leads me to believe that it's either an issue with the OS file
being corrupted, or something is unfortunately wrong with the P2500 and it
may need to be sent in for servicing. <<<

Also can we upgrade the P2500 module using another P2500 module. For eg.
Transferring O.S from one P2500 module to another P2500 module using

this possible.

>>>Hmmm, I'm at work right now and don't have the XL-7 in front of me to
check this, but I don't think it's possible. If it is, it would be an
option in the Diagnostics section, which you can access by turning on the
P2500 while holding both of the cursor buttons. MIght want to check in
there and see if you see that option. Unless Aaron or Sean pops in and
tells us otherwise. <<<

Again your help is needed.
