enjoying 2.00?

enjoying 2.00?

2003-04-14 by Aaron Eppolito

Hey, I'm back. Didn't want you all to think I abandoned you. My Dad
was in town last week, so I had a nice vacation! Reading through the
list, I flagged a few questions to which answers will be forthcoming.
Hope you're all enjoying the new OS!

-Aaron

Here is my 2 cents:

Just the additions of X-mix, the temporary "bar-looper", and the stutter button have blown me away. The machine has taken on a whole new level of playability. This is the only machine I am using (with a simple keyboard) and have just fallen in love with it (again).

The "looper" is incredibly helpful in the editing process and a blast during "performance". I prefer to use the note editor after I lay down a riff. Before, when editing a long pattern I had to wait for the pattern to recycle to hear my adjustments. Now I can loop the bar I am editing. Extremely easy!!! Also, looping a single bar of a long lead riff can help the really creative process.

The addition of the "shift" button and the places it can take you is fantastic.

I am sure much more praise of 2.0 will be forthecoming as the group spends more time with it.

Thanks to you and all of the EMU crew for putting in the extra effort.

Back to the tunes!!!!

Scott

Aaron,
This is a Hell (excuse-me) of an upgrade. I got some of the
stuff I asked for and a whole lot more. You guys did a great job.
You must of spent a lot of nights getting this excellent package
together. You managed to add so much new functionality without
corrupting the look and feel of the original design. GREAT JOB!!!!

        Alvin

P.S.
You have made a believer out of me.

Now that 2.0 is out, I reloaded all the factory patterns and have
been having a blast with XMIX. I pretty much deleted all the factory
stuff right when I got my XL7. But now that XMIX is around, those
patterns are an indespensable source of mix fodder. I've assembled
about 4 or 5 patters just from tracks I found in the factory
patterns. There's some nice sequence data stuck in those babies.
