I need a couple of really good sounding E.pianos for my XL-7. Which expansion board is the right for me? I'm getting Sounds of the ZR for it's piano now... but does it also have good e pianos? //Nifflas

Well, I almost know the presets of the XL-7 by heart, but I want something more real sounding... //Nifflas --- In xl7@y..., "www.mp3.com/koering" <A.Libi@b...> wrote: > found a good one in my xl-7 under 121² KEY:HybridTine > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <nifflas@m...> > To: <xl7@y...> > Sent: Thursday, November 22, 2001 3:17 PM > Subject: [xl7] E.Piano > > > > I need a couple of really good sounding E.pianos for my XL-7. man the ZR76 board has great acoustic pianos for sure. but the epianos sound like 1996 samples. very dx/bell like patches, no bite or realistic rhodes or wurly's... the whole board is very mid-later 90's sounding...Very very ensoniq indeed. But it's the only game intown besides the played out proteus rom or flashroming some croms ep's. I'M TOTALLY in that place right now where I'm deciding what I should do as I don't own an emu ultra sampler.

What sounds really good is relative to the person listening. The EP sounds on the ZP ROM are quite different than the EP sounds on the composer ROM. Listen to them, add some effects, then decide if you need something else. If you decide you want the composer ROM consider looking for a used P2K. With the 2500 comming out the price on the used 2K's should drop. Then you will have the ROM, 128 more voices, and three more expansion slots.
