Yes they do! I'd been asking around the P2K group for somebody to
dump these so I could convert them for the P2500/Command Station.
Nobody did, but then two weeks later (after bugging the P2K group a
second time), Sean e-mailed these to me. I think I tried putting them
up on this group, but there was a disk space issue.

I'm trying to get somebody to do the same thing for the Audity 2000
banks, which use the same samples as the Audity 2000 with the
expansion card. Sean explained how it could be done in a previous
post here, but I haven't been able to get anybody to dump the banks
for me to convert. So, if you own an Audity 2000...

Actually, there isn't any conversion from the XX-1 boxes to the XX-7 - you
just load them in.

This is going to take a lot more work. Ideally, (yes, I'm a broken record),
EMU would give us the patch sysex specs for the two units, and someone can
whip up a perl script to convert the two. Converting them by hand would
probably be so time consuming as to be unfeasible.

Is there any reason why these are public domain? They are for >every< other
synth on the market....

I am currently starting work with a producer who is using a planet phatt for
most of his production. If I could get the same sounds out of my xl-7, we
could save >so< much time....

i found the sysex spec on the emu site :
http://www.emu.com/products/pdf/pdf_manuals/sysEx/protAudSysEx21.pdf
the sysex spec seems to be the same for both synths. the audity2000
page and the proteus page link to this doc.

i took a brief look at the waveforms. it seems like nr 0-287 are exact
the same, nr 288-522 seems to be idenctical with nr 1-235 on the audity
extreme board.
so if we would know the different rom IDs someone might be able to
write a perl converter. i don´t know if there are any other differences.

since i don´t have any experience with perl, it´s up to someone with
perl experience....

basically we all have an audity2000, so at least the factory sounds
should work.
