Emu staff + this group = a beautiful thing

Emu staff + this group = a beautiful thing

2003-04-03 by soundcrafter

I just realized a bug was just fixed because *one person* mentioned
it... I was too surprised to really think much of it at first, but
after further reflection I thought of something. The fact that the
Emu staff not only monitor this group, but *listen and react* to the
people who use their product is both a rarity and a valuable
commodity in this business.

I can't tell you the number of times that support has been either
weak or completely lacking for various gear I have owned.. I'm sure
we've all experienced that. Sometimes you're lucky to even get
repairs or questions answered. To have a situation like we have here
is, well.. a beautiful thing :)

Thank you Aaron (and any other Emu staffers who might be here - I'm
too new to know who's who). This type of support shows that you're
trying to make *instruments* for people who PLAY MUSIC... not pound
out some groovebox toy crap for the quick bucks and move on the the
next cash cow. If this is the way you support all your products then
you've just gained a loyal customer :)

Thanks also to the members of this group for being ever-helpful, and
Realm for giving us all a place to come together. I joined here
before I ever actually *had* my xl-7, and I'm damn glad I did. It
looks like this will actually be a useful and interesting group to be
a part of...

Ok, cheesiness is over, go play some music :)

Cheers to that.

Sometimes I wish a company like EMU had the ability to do more MORE of what
they do so wonderully. For example, Roland released something like 20 or so
products this year... the 909, the Fantom/S, the VSynth (have you seen this
thing??), other digital pianos, not to mention recording gear, Monitors,
Controllers, USB audio shit, ... the list goes on.

EMU? Are you focusing on one product this year (xx-?)? Do you have
something planned up your sleeve? EMU's synthesis ability (as far as
programming) is very technical. And EMU does a great job and perfecting
their products -- (Patchchords are an AMAZING ability) - only if every
company went this way about things. . . While things like the VSYNTH are
cool, Gimmicks like "dBeams" and these "Kaos Pad" type things are only going
to go to a certain point in a production world. and while the INTERFACE is
awesome in things like the FANTOM and the 909, the ABILITY is always going
to be the beg selling point on the EMU products... Another big seller for
me is the obvious "bang for the buck" thing.

What's next EMU? Akai, Roland, Korg, and other companies are big
competitors... For every store that carries EMU, there is probably 4 or 5
that carry one of these products... Is it just marketing? Looks?
Function?

I'm no expert, but I bet the next thing that EMU releases is going to be a
BLOCK ROCKIN piece of equipment...

What's going on in those labs? Hmmmmm.... Need help?

Cheers
David

The fact that the Emu staff not only monitor this group, but *listen and
react* to the people who use their product is both a rarity and a valuable
commodity in this business.

>>>Emu and Access are (IMO) the two best companies at listening to their
customers, and showing a company presence on public lists. If you have a
frustration, you generally don't have to wait long for a reply or an
answer. It is a very rare thing these days, and it's awesome that Emu
takes such pride in their work. <<<

Thanks also to the members of this group for being ever-helpful, and Realm
for giving us all a place to come together.

>>>Don't thank me for providing a place to come together, I'm just 1 on
the moderators, and not the list owner even. I came here a bit late
myself, just happen to have a lot of time at work to post frequently :)
(sometimes) <<<

Sorry... No slight intended to anyone! Like I said... I'm too new to
know who's who :)
