OS 1.32 and then a hum

OS 1.32 and then a hum

2003-04-02 by Joseph Yorio

I tried to load OS 1.32 via E-Loader into my MP-7 and I couldn't
figure out how to do it with USB, but that's really not the issue.
I gave up and went to go back to working with it and there was a hum
that can be heard with the volume up or down, both in the headphones
and through the outputs.
Does anyone have a clue as to what this is or how it happened?
Many thanks!
Joseph

Possibly some sort of ground loop with your PC via the USB cable? Try
unplugging the cable and seeing if it goes away.

PS. you can't use USB to update the OS. you have to use good ol' MIDI.

Ah! Ground loop strikes again...

I hope OS 2.0 will also solve this. :P

It is an issue, you need to use MIDI to update the OS, not USB. Read the
FAQ I just posted for info on that, and you hum question too.

Me too, if it doesn't that just totally ruins all use for it live. I
mean, what context where they thining of when they included a ground loop
ruduction algorithm, and then make it not work with the USB port?
