usb and eloader

usb and eloader

2003-03-20 by mikexl7

ok i have installed the drivers for xp exactly as the help file told
me to, I have the xl conected properly. But when i open eloader
and try to select the drivers there is only driver0. If i recal
ther should be 0 and 1. can any one help me out here.

Also do i have to have the midi conected to transmit patterns back
and forth to the computer or is the usb alone enough?

Thanks

mike G.

USB alone should be fine for Pattern and Song transfers, you only NEED the
MIDI ports for OS updates. Maybe try unplugging your midi device and see
if it reloads the ritgh drivers this time? Or just reinstall them, easy
enough to do.

DUDE!

I have done this like four times trying to get it working.
Including formating my H.D.!

I have had it up and running in no time in the past I am so lost for
answers at this point.

I am begining to think that it is a problem with the usb on the
mother board in the computer. But evry thing shows up fine in my
device maniger in windows xp. go figure.

Did you remember to install Java, and install the USB driver from the eLoader
install directory?

Re: [xl7] Re: usb and eloader

It works ok with MIDI though? To be honest the USB is nice, but not
necessary. I was using USB in the past with no issues, but I recently had
to reorganize the studio, and do to it's location USB to the XL-7 just
isn't practial for me right now. I'm using just midi, and really it's not
THAT much slower, and you need to use it for Preset dumps and OS upgrades
anyway. If you can get by with MIDI, I say just use that, might not be
worth teh hassle of sorting out the USB issues. If you do want to pursue
it further, there's PCI USB cards for like $14 that might help though.

You don't have to install Java seperately with E-Loader 1.1, only version
1.0 which you shouldn't use anyway :)
