Help with track enable/mute

Help with track enable/mute

2001-11-11 by John Walsh

I am having difficulty with the track enable/mute buttons. In a
pattern, if I "unselect" a track to mute it, when the pattern gets
back to the first measure all the tracks are selected again (the
light comes on for all sixteen buttons). How do I get a mute
to "stick"? Thanks.

Hi

Pressing the stop button twice imidietly restores the pattern to its
last saved state!
try saving the mutes the way u want to play them ,to the pattern.

hope it helps ;)

Adam,

Thanks for the reply. I'm sure that I tried what you suggest, but
maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I've enabled the tracks I want to hear, and disabled those I want to
bring in later. So some lights are on, some are off. Then I save my
pattern. When I then try to play it, it either starts with all the
tracks on, or when it gets around to repeating the first measure, they
all magically turn on.

Now even if I haven't saved my tracks in the right state, it doesn't
seem right that when I mute a track, it becomes re-enabled, by itself,
when the pattern gets back to the first measure. My pattern is
playing, in measure two, for example, I disable a couple tracks, then
after 8 measures, when it gets back to measure 1, without any
intervention from me, all the tracks are magically re-enabled and
everything's playing again. This shouldn't be happening, right? Or
am I still missing something?

Thanks again for all the help from this list.

John

Weird, are track mutes something that gets recorded with the pattern
perhaps? I dind't think this was possible, but that's what it sounds
like...
