There's a whole diagnostic menu. It will test just about anything you
ask it to, including flash, RAM, ROM, audio path, front panel, MIDI, etc...

I'm also testing a used MP-7. when I perform the tests I get a "MIDI test
failed-Port A In/out Jumpered?"
Does anyone know what this means. Also is there a description of the error
messages anywhere?

To test the MIDI ports, you need to plug a cable into the back,
connecting the In to the Out (so it can loop back MIDI to itself).
