Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

I'm using Cubase VST32/5.2 as my pc-sequencer and i've been using my 
mp7 as an sound module. Everything gone fine, but now i'm trying to 
get the cubase send the start and stop messages (via my edirol UM1)
to mp7 so i can record stuff i have done with the mp7's sequencer as 
audio.
Midi clock is on ext, and external start/stop  is accepted, but still 
nothing happens. The same problem is with Vegas Video 3.0, mp7 
doesn't do anything when i press start on Vegas.

Juat to make everything simple, i would just like to trigger the mp7  
to start with cubase(or any program)

You may have to go into the Options menu on Cubase and make sure that the 
Send Midi Clock and Record Sysex is checked. See if that works.
