Could someone PLEASE tell me how to ensure that presets to saved patterns don't change after power cycling.

Make sure that the tracks you're trying to save presets for have data on them (i.e. you've recorded or inserted notes or controllers). In other words, you cannot make a "template" pattern which only sets up presets, vol, pan, etc. (well, actually you can, but it's a bit more work; see the archives for more info). -Aaron __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Patterns definately had note data...the preset was (prom1)concert piano and when power cycled it still had note data but was playing it through the first (user) preset (a modified drum kit)?!?!? This has happened before and really messes things up for me:( --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Aaron Eppolito <synthesis77@y...> wrote: > --- "musicaemagister <rob@v...>" wrote: > > Could someone PLEASE tell me how to ensure that presets to saved > > patterns don't change after power cycling. > > Make sure that the tracks you're trying to save presets for have data > on them (i.e. you've recorded or inserted notes or controllers). Just to clarify what Aaron was saying, each *track* that you wish to have a preset assigned will require MIDI data in that track in order for the preset setting to also be saved (there is really a reason for this, it really is a feature!). For example, lets say you want presets saved on synth channels 01A, 07A, and 02B. You will need to have those each assigned as the destinations for a track, and the corresponding track must also have data. While it is normal to have the relationship where track1->01A, track2->02A and so on it is not required and that is sometimes the source of confusion. Not sure if this is what is causing your problem but I thought I'd mention it just in case. drk www.delora.com/music www.mp3.com/zdrk drk.iuma.com On 1/17/03 3:28 PM, "musicaemagister <rob@...>" <rob@...> wrote: > Patterns definately had note data...the preset was (prom1)concert > piano and when power cycled it still had note data but was playing it > through the first (user) preset (a modified drum kit)?!?!? > > This has happened before and really messes things up for me:( > > > > > --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Aaron Eppolito <synthesis77@y...> wrote: >> --- "musicaemagister <rob@v...>" wrote: >>> Could someone PLEASE tell me how to ensure that presets to saved >>> patterns don't change after power cycling. >> >> Make sure that the tracks you're trying to save presets for have > data >> on them (i.e. you've recorded or inserted notes or controllers).
