MIDI SYNC

2003-01-14 by svycudilik <svycudilik@yahoo.com>

Does anyone know if it is possible to use the xx-7 as a midi-slave or
is it possible to set the xx-7 to "recieve midi clock" mode? (i would
like to sync the xx-7 to my cubase system).

i also could use this very well when playing live.

Help!

Thx

It recieves it fine. I dont think you even need to set it up. I
belive it just autodetects. If you go to the Midi page where it
shows tempo it will say (0=midiclk) , if it's recieving it there
should be a number instead of 0, refering to the tempo.

Push the EDIT MIDI Button and scroll until you see the menu item BASE TEMPO.
Cursor to the value field and set the value all the way down past 1. It
will register "ext" when you get to the next value. That's all there is to
it. This setting is saved as part of a multisetup.

Once set the Tempo display will show the tempo of the received MIDI clock.

Also the XX-7 will always respond to MIDI control commands like START, STOP,
CONTINUE even when it is not set to external tempo unless you explicitly
defeat that by setting EXTERNAL SONG START/STOP to "ignored", also on the
EDIT MIDI menu.

Yes, set the tempo to 0 (EXT) in the MIDI menu.

Err...
I'd thought the correct answer to be:

RTFM.
