Is there any way to put -7 to GM mode?

Kamy,

If you get the ZR ROM # 9088, which has a GM bank.  E-mu has 
otherwise stayed away(for now)from the whole GM thing.

I think they did a good decision saying away from the whole GM thing. 
I mean, GM is only good for playing back standard MIDI files, and I 
guess most people doesn't use their synths for that purpose. Most 
instruments is quite unuseable, and takes a lot of memory that could 
be reversed for better things...

I think they did a good decision saying away from the whole GM thing.
I mean, GM is only good for playing back standard MIDI files, and I
guess most people doesn't use their synths for that purpose. Most
instruments is quite unuseable, and takes a lot of memory that could
be reversed for better things...

Don't forget the fact that most tutorial Midi-files are in GM format.

Well, for tutorial stuff you should get a cheap synth or soundcard, I 
mean, I don't care for tutorial stuff and don't expect anything like 
that to exists in the synthesizers I buy (except a manual)... I 
already know how MIDI works in detail.

Thank god they stayed away from GM in the XL/MP too.  I love not having to 
scroll through tons of crap GM presets while looking for sounds.  The 
XL/MP are obviously not geared towards that market anyway.  Like you said 
if you need to have GM get the expansion board.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
