Need a case

Need a case

2003-01-02 by Jeff Hodges

If you have the soft case for the XL-7, do you like it? I haven't seen
one as none of the stores stock them (even in Atlanta) and was
wondering how much protection they offered.

Anyone make a good hard case, similar to a briefcase? If anyone can
turn me on to a dealer/manufacturer I could check out cases or purchase
via mail order I'd appreciate it.

ya i had a hard time finding one that worked the way i wanted.

The one I ended up with is made by UNICASE, the problem is if i am
not mistaken they have just recently gone out of bisness. You may
want to snoop around. The thing is perfict though it even has a
removable plate at the bottom for the cables to run out of!

Good luck

I'd also be interested in a soft case. Not just a bag but a hard foam/nylon/
canvas outside. I'll be at NAMM so if I find a good case I'll make sure I post the
information.

Check this company too for price reference. I had them make a nice custom case for my microQkeyboard.

I have one (gift from the girlfriend). They don't really offer any
protection, just an easy way to carry the XX-7. They're not padded at all
(not enough storage space either), so if you're worried about it getting
banged up, look into getting a padded bag from RokSak available from
Musician's Friend. They make all sorts of sizes, I had/have one for my
mc505, and it worked great. Too bad it's just a tad too small for the
XL-7...

If you have the soft case for the XL-7, do you like it? I haven't seen
one as none of the stores stock them (even in Atlanta) and was
wondering how much protection they offered.

Anyone make a good hard case, similar to a briefcase? If anyone can

Qwik update on my XX-7 case safari
I contacted Modern Case thanks to David. The nice folks there quoted $50 -
$60 for custom case. Hard foam, Canvas outer shell, zippered case.
Pretty reasonable I think. I'll check them out at NAMM. If i have one made they
will have the specs for the size so it will be easy for anyone interested to get
one as well.

Re: [xl7] Re: Need a case

Consider an outside soft pocket or two (on front back or sides even) so you
can carry some cables and a pedal, etc. Nothing worse than a case that
requires you to port another case or bag too.

Absolutely. I'm leaning towards a small, 3" wide X 5" deep (That's
the max inside depth aprox) additional cavity for all that extra stuff if it
doesn't make it too long.
Thanks

Reek

I just called modern case today to confirm an order I placed for somthing
else. They're currenlty 4-6 weeks out on production because they just moved
their manufacturing facility. So put that order in early!! :) They're
great cases - I've seen quite a few of them...

That's a good price for a custom job! The 'official' XL-7 bag is almost
that much and isn't padded at all.

Qwik update on my XX-7 case safari
I contacted Modern Case thanks to David. The nice folks there quoted $50 -

$60 for custom case. Hard foam, Canvas outer shell, zippered case.
Pretty reasonable I think. I'll check them out at NAMM. If i have one made
they
will have the specs for the size so it will be easy for anyone interested
to get
one as well.
