Lets all calm down here. I think everyone knows that when you buy on the day a product is released, you pay the highest price. You wait 6 months, and it goes down by several hundred dollars. You are paying a premium for being the "first" to use it and review it. Isn't it funny how the Roland VS series seems to drop by about a THOUSAND dollars after 8 months-12 months? Do you really think it has depreciated that much? Certainly not physically, but psychologically, yes. Welcome to pure economics. EMU is there to make money. If you want to give it to them, you shouldn't complain, really. Now go make some music, no matter how much you paid for this machine!!! yes,i halfly agree. i also won't complain on the price cuz i must make my purchase decision b4 i put my money on the gears i'm in fond of. but, nowadays, many products(like yammy aw4416/2816 and this command stations) are just unfinished for end-users to do beta-testing. thats why i halfly agree w/ leonard's point, i won't complain on prices, but i'll complain on the buggy o.s. and i sold the buggy gears and swear i'll never buy that kind of buggy newest gears again,i may buy them again in the latter days when its o.s. bugs was fixed completely. --- In xl7@y..., leonardng123@h... wrote: > Lets all calm down here. They should have released the XX-7 cheap, and raise the price when this #"¤!)%# OS worked. No really, I don't care if I spent $300 extra money just because I bought this thing when it came out. But I'm mad, I expected it to work, and I don't dare to bring this thing to live performance since it may suddenly crash. btw, does the rest of you also have this specific problem, that the XX-7 crashes, and you have to use the power switch to restart it...? Just want to make sure it's the OS and not my XX-7... Anyway, due to the buggy OS, I will probably never buy E-MU gear again. They should not have released the XX-7's at all before they worked. //Nifflas --- In xl7@y..., leonardng123@h... wrote: > Lets all calm down here. It's a total lockup. Happends a few times every week. I'm using OS 1.01 I have another problem as well. The big data knob (top left, don't remember the name of it =) acts very strange. When I change pattern, or do anything with it, it suddenly jumps from perhaps pattern 1 to something like 32, even when I turn it really really slow... Very weird. Perhaps I should send this thing back to E-MU and ask them to fix it. //Nifflas > I have had one crash but i did not have to use the power switch to > restart it. > > > btw, does the rest of you also have this specific problem, that the > > XX-7 crashes, and you have to use the power switch to restart > it...? > > Just want to make sure it's the OS and not my XX-7... > > > > Anyway, due to the buggy OS, I will probably never buy E-MU gear > > again. i haven't experienced any crashes or lockups,so i think ur xl7 may have some problems. but i can hear its sound jamming in chaos when i changed the patterns,i think there must be some busy data changing (presets/control data) between patterns change,so that the "fast but not really fast enough" cpu inside just couldn't catch up in time....thats why it had timing delay when switching patterns, but,in my case, not just delay, the sound was jammed in chaos...even though just for a half second. --- In xl7@y..., erik_magrini@B... wrote: > Maybe try reloading your OS?
