Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!

2002-12-23 by erik_magrini@Baxter.com

Well all, it's my last day here online until January 6th, so I just wanted
to say happy holidays to those that celebrate. This has been a really
good year for this list, we're finally getting some good discussions going
and more people are posting. I'd be remiss if I didn't offer up the
biggest thank you to Aaron, Scott, and Sean and the rest at Emu for really
going above and beyond to make sure we have the greatest little box out
there. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they had to fight fairly hard
to get the go ahead to create an OS2.0 for the XX-7's, so we all owe them
a bit of thanks.

Having said that, is the new OS here yet? What's the hold up? j/k :)

Also, one more reminder that time is really running out for the first ever
XX-7 contest deadline, so get cracking on your tunes! Don't forget to
start downloading the ones that have been posted already too, you can get
all the tracks and info here:

http://EmuCS.iuma.com

As I said earlier, I'll be away from email until the 6th of January, so if
you need upload instructions, it'll probably have to wait until then. I
'might' come into work to check my email once during this time, so if
you're ready and you don't want to wait, shoot me an email just in case.

Peace and beats,
rEalm

Hey rEalm just wanted to say happy HO HO to you just for being so
dam dedicated to the board. And some how being able to keep a
positive additude.

so there ya go dude props for being the most dedicated xl7 message
board guy!!

I have been coming here from almost day one I rember when there
where what i think was like 6 members or sompthing LOL. Well and
also i have to second the props to Aaron and Scott and the rest of
the programers and emu crew behind the XL/MP7s.

I just want to add a note here on the topic of respect to emu. I
went into my local store where they sell all roland akai yamaha korg
you name it gear and tried to find a better product. Bottom line is
i could not find a better, dare I say.... groove box for what i do.
This included a in depth conversation with my fave geek at the store
reguarding the new 909 from roland. And it kinda came down to "how
does it sound?" and well it was reduced to this Roland sounds flat
and clod and emu sound big and warm. So all that being said I deal
with what i have to to get two main things that emu offers that no
one elts does.

1. Warm and fat sounds
2. The patch cords

I will expand on the patch cords here for just a second, No one
elts does it like emu and thank you so freaking much for doing it
the way that you do it! I like to have a synth when i buy a synth
not 1200 presets that i can kinda change the envalopes on if you dig
what i am saying here. Emu alows me to make MY music not EMUs music.

props to emu.

now just use better encoders on your controllers!!!! aaaaaaaaa
hahahahaha it is true i am bitching but i bet ya it dont have any
thing to do with the emuans who do the programing.

so peace to the xl7 board and the famlies that suround them and
happy HO HO to you if you go HO HO HO

mike g is outa here

Thanks for the post

I read the conditions and they are fine for me being a novice at this so

I have a question where can I get simple info about... Normalising ???
and mastering ??? As mentionioned at the contest site, at the moment we
just do
straight live recordings using the s/pdif into an m-audio delta 66
,one big learning area area for me in 2003 will be this subject.

Peace
