Subs 1&2 where does the return signal go?

Subs 1&2 where does the return signal go?

2002-12-20 by musicaemagister <rob@vacatedrecords.com>

Where the heck does the signal on the return side of a stereo cable
inserted in sub 1 or 2 go?????

And I'm guessing you have to use a stereo cable for the subs to get
the option to route a channel there in glogal menu.....tried a
regular instrument cable and no good?????

Please advise.

You most likely need an "insert" cable. It's stereo on one
end (the part that goes into the sub1/2 jack) and then the other
side is two mono connections. One goes into your effect input and
the other your output.

Including the headphone output, which is great! :)

I've got the intuition it's not merged with the digital out though.
That would be even cooler, for sure... Did someone try?

I am pretty sure it is not mixed to the digital out. This would require a A/D conversion. If it did this, it woul be a nifty A/D converter, allowing for digital effects and then out of spdif or AES/EBU to digital in on computer.

As it is though, since you can have an insert in, without necessarily sending out, then the outs act like a 4 channel summation line mixer sending to the headphone and main outs. Not bad if you have a couple extra sound modules but no mixer in a live situation. Just run their outs (using insert cables) to the command station and then out to your amp/DI box(es).

Thanks Ya'll...I was only using the left sub one out and had it
panned right....that's why I couldn't find the return....I really
suck.

Just run their outs (using insert cables) to the command station and
then out to your amp/DI box(es).

Actually in that case you wouldn't need an insert cable. Just a
balanced (stereo) one will do. But you need to do some soldering.
Disconnect the wire going to the ring and leave it like that, and
then disconnect the tip and connect it to where the ring is. So you
should just have the ground connected, the tip connected to the ring
(with the previous connection to the ring NOT connected), and nothing
connected to the tip.
