Re: sequencing external samples

a few things to consider: 1. the midi cc and pc message numbers in the repeater manual are not all correct...you should look in the files section of the yahoogroup repeater group (or check the archives) for accurate numbers. 2. the repeater is not a sampler, and does not behave like one. i mostly use my repeater from the front pannel, so i can't give specific steps, but you might consider cueing up the loop you want from the repeater ahead of time, and let the emu do the equivilent of pressing the play button on beat one of a new sequence. 3. i find in my own production, that using several sequencers synced is more fun (and more musical) than just using one master sequencer to controll everything (and yes, i know that you could accomplish most things with a single sequencer, but i find it beneficial to be able to change one sequence, and keep some elements from changing at the same time...without complete planning beforehand). that said, you might consider just using the repeater manually while it syncs to midi. 4. unless you are doing live looping (recording or overdubbing in realtime while you perform or record), you would probably benefit from a more traditional sampler..as the repeaters strongest point is it's live recording of loops. deknow --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, <acopolis@s...> wrote: > So It seems like this should be one of the main things that this machine can > do but I don't see anywhere in the manual that tells how to do it. > > I want the MP7 to select and start loops on my repeater but I have no clue > how to go about this. > > It seems like you should be able to program the program change or control > changes into the song on the MP7 so that the appropriate samples will be > selected and triggered automatically.
