I'm afraid not. The recently-updated Proteus 2000 module (which supports the
XL-1, Orbit 3 and other Proteus 2000-based modules) still has a problem
accessing the patches of the XL-7, MP-7, and Proteus 2500-based units
(including the newer MP-6/XL-6/PK-6/Halo keyboards).

This problem is independent of the installed ROM configuration (I tried this
morning with a TSCY ROM in my XL-7, same result).

I've been on to E-mu and Emagic both about this issue for the last thirteen
months, and there doesn't seem to be a resolution. I feel really cheated and
disappointed in all this, as I merely wanted an XL-1 with a hardware
sequencer, using the computer for patch creation.

Is anyone at E-mu going to address this problem (or should I downtrade my
XL-7 for an XL-1 Turbo that DOES work with SoundDiver)?

You know guys I have the same problem and it is good to know that I am not
alone. I too have been asking Emu and Emagic to resolve this and have had
negative results. You would think with both companys being so much in the
spot light these days they would try to be on top of all the happening new
pieces of hardware and softwares but I guess that is wishing too much. I
haven't been able to benefit from my Sound Diver since I bought it. The XL-7
is my main source for sounds now and I would really like to edit on screen.
Oh well, SUCKS TO BE US!!!!!!!!!

I d/led the emagic programers guide an the sysex manual from emu..and
it doesn't look TOO difficult...just kinda involved..I don't have
alot of sysex experience but i think it IS doable..I should get my
box in a couple o days and after I play with it for a while I may try
and get this going. In the mean time I'm going to go ahead and get
started using the sysex manual as a reference (although I won't be
able to test) and i'll let you guys know if its TOO over my head :)

If you can make this emagic sound diver problem we are having go away, I am
sure we will all owe you! I am not high on the midi/sys ex literate scale so
It would take me a lifetime to solve this puzzle. It took me months to
understand how to make OMS patch lists for my XL-7 w/ Mo Phatt card. Please
pass on your results to us if you get it.
                                    Thank You!
