I'd like to make some positive suggestions (in spite of the negative tone of recent posts). Hopefully some of these are not impossibilities, and can at least inspire. My wishes to take this sequencer over the top (and to satiate my appetite for features of the competition): 1. touch strip as reconfigurable modulation input - not just CC#3 (for some twisted ribbon controller fun for all those parameters!) (..I'm assuming the XL/MP-7 can already drive multiple modulation destinations from a single modulation input) ..and seeing as I'm heavily into drum programming.. 2. realtime swing/beat shift as modulation output (to use a knob or LFO!..whoa) somethin akin to RM1X/RS7000 (dare I say..) 3. groove templates (ala MPC60/Cubase - don't know if SP1200 has this..) -both realtime & post process capable - so your beats do not have to be stiff when composing - nice if they could be extracted from your own grooves too, applied to other patterns, sent back/forth from USB port, and even posted on the EMU web board to swap and collaborate. ..blah blah..and then maybe the MPC60 Cubase grooves that Steinberg posted could be converted (and the 909 swing settings)? Hmm, them I wouldn't still want an MPC60, and the XL-7 would be a true replacement for my TR-626 XOX MIDI sequencer (909 swing):) - realtime 909 groove while composing on the XL-7's 16 grid buttons.. (btw I don't use Cubase:) 4. to be able to route LFO modulations to external MIDI CC outputs. Excellent for creating LFO-type effects synced to the XL-7 on external gear (which can also give a piece of gear with no LFO, LFO- type sounds) (I haven't picked-up my XL-7 to test if this is possible) Anybody else interested in these ideas? To me, these features would make this box so much more desirable. The XL/MP-7 seems to be very intelligently designed, and I would love to make this a true replacement for my older technology.
