Why is it if you're scrolling through the Presets (in Preset View), and
the cursor is under the NAME of the preset, it automatically jumps you to
the User banks, if you're cursor is under the Preset NUMBER though, it
stays in the XL-7 banks?

Also, if you select a track (track up/down buttons next to LCD) with the
Preset View button pressed, then go to say Grid Mode to record (hold
PLAY+REC), the current track is different from the one you selected in
Preset View? Anyone else seeing this one? I don't know if it happens in
other record modes too, I just keep running into this one over and over...

I'll double check it's exactly those circumstances again tonight, writing
this from work without the XL in front of me, sorry.

Arpeggiators is very common, I suppose every virtual analogue synth
nowdays has it, and it's definetly a really useful feature. I can't
say I like the pattern arpeggiators of the XX-7's, but since it also
has more than all features of a standard arpeggiator, it is *really*
useful.

I found a quite nice explanation here
(http://www.myatari.net/issues/aug2001/arp_art.htm):

"What is an arpeggiator? Basically it takes notes from a chord and
strings them together as individual notes to form patterns. These
patterns are usually played ascending (up), descending (down), both
ascending and descending, or in some instances, in a random order.
You can also adjust the speed in which the patterns are played. This
allows the musician to perform arpeggiation effects simply by holding
down a chord, or playing in some notes. This is very different to the
auto-accompaniment consumer keyboards available in today's retail
outlets."

Probably. Not that this is any cause for distress. How are your
soldering skills? Can you follow a circuit diagram? (just kidding :>
- all you need is a pc with a midi port)
