sp808 stuff

sp808 stuff

2002-12-06 by erik_magrini@Baxter.com

Did you know you could hook up a midi cable from the 808's midi Out port
to it's In port and play the internal synth via the 16 pads? Also, it's
possible to make a sp808 normal version into an EX version too, drK has
all the details. Just adding the EX OS is worth it in my opinion.

I miss my sp808 sometimes, that was one cool little box.

I did come upon a neat thing though, seems the
808s line fader volumes can controll the MP7
internally (which was cool to use when trying to
record a pattern and have sound drops).

It's very easy and cheap to add a 250 Internal ZIP to the Sp808, and the
only other difference is the OS, which you can get for free!

thought the sp808 has a 100MB zip and the ex version a 250Mb zip...
and what I dont´t like is that it could just play 4 samplez at the same
time.. well you could resample it.. but???

A word of warning - if you upgrade the OS without upgrading the zip drive to 250 megs, only use the 'quick format' function. The 'full format' will crash your machine and make the disk unreadable.
